WIP Wednesday

This is my work in progress:

No actual sewing to show, but I getting my quilts ready to take to our quilt show which is this weekend. I have to drop them off today- this is the first quilt show I've ever been in!

Yard sale day and link up

Today is our 2nd day of yard sale. Yesterday was really busy and we sold a lot. Here's what it looked like before anyone came:

We sold so much it began to look empty! So we went looking for more to downsize. Lots of fun!

In August my goals were:

*finish 1930's quilt top-done!

*finish June calendar quilt-done!

*work on grandson's quilt- 0%  :(

BUT, I did get a lot of other things finished so I don't feel too bad.

 

For the month of September my goals are:

* finish quilting my veteran's quilt

*start October calendar quilt

* sew my gd at least 2 more school dresses

What about you? Have any new goals as we head into Fall?

 

 

 

 

 

Finished Friday

Yay! I got 3 projects finished this week! I finished another t-shirt dress for my gd:

She really likes them with something on the t-shirt to match the skirt. I ran out of fabric on the other dress I posted yesterday...oh well.

I also finished the apron for my friend:

And I finished the 1930's quilt top!!

 

It always makes me feel good to finish projects- something to check off my list.

WIP Wednesday

I can't believe it's been a whole week since I've posted! We're keeping busy here- having a yard sale this weekend and that takes a lot of work!
I have been doing some sewing though. I started an apron for a friend for her birthday:

And I cut out squares in preparation to make this next calendar quilt:

I've also been slowly quilting the veteran's quilt and adding rows to the 1930's quilt. And here is one of the finished t-shirt dresses for my granddaughter:

WIP Wednesday

I am making progress on projects, just not a lot of pictures...
This is my 1930's quilt

I am officially half way done! I think I may donate the quilt top to our charity group to finish.

I also have been working on this:

The reason there are no pictures of progress is I put it together and then tried it on my granddaughter. Needless to say it was way too long! So... I had to take it apart. Right now it does kind of look like this picture. I need to cut off some of the t-shirt and then sew the skirt back on, then try it on her again for the length. Once I get this all worked out the other dresses will be much easier.

Quilting start

I've officially started quilting my veteran's quilt! I did 2 blocks...

I'm doing some stars and loops. My arm is still giving me trouble, so 2 blocks is about it for the day

(sigh...) I do hope to eventually get back up to speed someday, but for now I'm thankful I can do 2 blocks!

Finished Friday

I 'm so happy!!! I got the tote bag finished!

And here is what I put inside:

Some mechanical pencils, sticky notes and some HUGS in case of loneliness.

Aren't these sticky notes cute?! I found them in the school supplies at Walmart for $1.

I'm planning on giving her this on Sunday as she leaves on Tues. My dd is actually going with her and her mom to the college, to lend support on this big adventure (she is my dd best friend).

Today I hope to get my veterans quilt basted together.
