day 8 art jounaling

This one I used gesso and a line stencil to create area to write on.
I'm using charcoal to add shadow around the edges and I really like how it looks. On this yellow pg I used puffy white paint for the circles of the flowers, then used watercolors for the inside. Hard to see in the pic.

I'm having a blast doing thes journal pages! On this one I used my Crafters Workshop stencil with gesso before I painted over it. At first I didn't like it because I couldn't see the circles, but after I put down paint I liked it.
This is my first attempt at doing a face- I like it.
This one was fun- I got the vintage girl image from Magic Moonlight free images. The stickers are from Tim Holtz- I love his stuff!
I'm glad to be keeping up, but I think I'm falling behind on household things... :)

Cont. 30 Days of Art

On this pg I tried something new- I put 3 colors of paint along the edge of a credit card and then swiped it down the pg.
I'm having lots of fun!

Day 2 and 4

I'm still working on these pages, but I've decided to work directly on the scrapbook paper instead of gessoing first. I mean the paper was just DRINKING that gesso! And I didn't notice much difference in the way the paint spread etc.
I'm hoping to make this an everyday journal with just fun pages in lots of colors and fun pictures.

30 days...1st day

Well, here it is, my art for the day. I would have liked to have stayed in my studio longer but...
Mostly gessoing today- I got this
at a thrift store. I'm gessoing all the pages before I begin any art journaling- going to see how I like that. I'm also may try adding inclusions in different sizes- we'll see.
I also made this postcard for blogging thing on being ourselves by Mystele.com.
I got the Be you stamp at Michael's for $1!!

Free to be me?

Do I feel like I'm free to be myself? Sometimes... Free to be who God made me? Sometimes...
I need to not put so much importance on fitting in or what others will think. It's not like I' am doing something that's wrong. But none of us like criticism. I need to look at what God wants of me and do whatever I do for Him including my art.

"To be nobody but yourself
in a world which is doing its best
night and day to make you everybody else
means to fight the hardest battle;
and keep fighting."
